Who we are

Ecole Autonome de Butare (EAB) is a Nursery and Primary school located in Southern Province of Rwanda, Huye District, Ngoma Sector, near the Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR) and PIASS (Protestant Institute of Arts and Social Sciences).

It is the former Ecole Belge that existed since 1964. It is a school of excellence aimed at giving a holistic education in order to have our pupils join good secondary schools, thereafter become useful to themselves and to the society.


Story of success -Performance in 4 previous years

Ecole Autonome de Butare has been the leading school in Huye District in the National Examination for the past four (4) years (ie: 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019). Moreover, the school mean (average aggregate) has been improving every year as shown from the chart below:

Currently, the mean score (aggregate) of the school is 7.2 (in 2019), while the possible maximum aggregate is 5, and the minimum being 45.

All our candidates have joined the best secondary schools and keep on performing well because in EAB they are trained how to be self reliant pupils.
