Closing the School Year in Gratitude and Grace

Closing the School Year in Gratitude and Grace

Today, we joyfully marked the end of the academic year at Ecole Autonome de Butare with a final school Mass—a cherished tradition that brings our community together in prayer and thanksgiving.

Brother Alexis led the Primary 5 and 6 choir in singing En Marchant Vers Toi, Seigneur, filling the space with joyful voices and heartfelt praise.

The celebration was led by Fathers Jean Boscoe and Thadde, with Father Boscoe offering a meaningful homily. He shared the story of Saint Jean Baptiste, the cousin and forerunner of Jesus Christ, reminding our young learners that just as Jean Baptiste prepared the way for Christ, they too are preparing for their own futures with the foundations they are building now.

As the year draws to a close, the message to the students was clear: enjoy your holidays, help your families, and never stop nurturing your education—even during the break. Special prayers and wishes of success were offered to our Primary 6 students as they take their next important steps.

Maternelle students listened closely as Father Jean Boscoe told them the story of Jean Baptiste, the cousin of Jesus.

Our Head Teacher, Benoît, expressed heartfelt thanks to the celebrants for their spiritual support throughout the year. He also extended gratitude to the teachers for their dedication and service. All were warmly invited to the P6 graduation ceremony this Saturday, following Umuganda. Everyone is welcome to join us in celebration!

The Mass concluded with a blessing over our students and their families—grateful for a year well completed, and hopeful for all that lies ahead.
